The NRTC welcomes Anthony “Tony” Candela, Vision Specialist Program Director, to the Center’s staff. Tony brings immense knowledge of blindness and low vision from having worked in the field for more than 40 years. Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Manhattan College and a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from Teachers College at Columbia University.  

Tony will lead the Rehabilitation Services Administration training grant that provides a graduate certificate program for Vision Specialists in Vocational Rehabilitation. In this new role with the NRTC, he will utilize his experience as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and administrator to help train professionals to enhance career preparation for blind individuals.
