Jennifer Cmar Receives Faculty Research Award
In recognition of exceptional research and leadership at Mississippi State University, NRTC Assistant Research Professor Jennifer Cmar was honored with the 2019 College of Education Faculty Research Award. Jenn was among more than 50 MSU staff, faculty, and students recognized during a program held on March 29. The Annual Research Awards Banquet is hosted by David Shaw, Vice President for Research and Econmoic Development, and Greg Bohach, Vice President for Agriculture, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine, to honor contributions to campus-wide research accomplishments.
Jenn has over 13 years of experience in visual impairment research and practice. A Certified Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist, her research interests include employment for individuals with visual impairments, improving post-school outcomes for transition-age youth, and O&M.
Jenn received a Ph.D. in Special Education in 2015 from the Joint Doctoral Program in Special Education between the University of California, Los Angeles and California State University, Los Angeles. She also holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Visual Disabilities from Florida State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles.
