The NRTC is collaborating with the University of Southern Mississippi and the Mississippi School for the Blind to provide statewide training for school districts on how to more effectively serve students who are visually impaired. B.J. LeJeune, NRTC Training Coordinator, will be conducting workshops on Transition to College, Eye Diseases Impacting Children, Teaching Students with Visual Impairments, and a Workshop for Administrators. Several other workshops will also be conducted by other national and state leaders in the blindness and low vision field. The schedule for the NRTC workshop activities will be available on our website in early February. The Mississippi Department of Education is providing funding for these workshops through a $50,000 training grant being administered through the University of Southern Mississippi.
