NRTC staff members, Michele McDonnall, B.J. LeJeune, Jamie O’Mally, and Jacqui Bybee spent the week of July 18th attending the biennial Association for the Education and Rehabilitation for the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) International Conference in Seattle, WA. The NRTC had several presentations during the conference including an overview of the Center’s current NIDRR-funded research projects, two sessions on vision loss and traumatic brain injury, and one on employment outcomes for transition-age youth. The NRTC also hosted an exhibit booth where conference attendees interacted with NRTC staff and asked questions about the Center’s research and training activities. During this time, the Center also celebrated its 30th anniversary where NRTC staff shared a delicious Anniversary cake with conference attendees and reflected on 30 years of conducting research on blindness and low vision.
