MSU-RRTC Represented at AER VRT Conference-Within-a-Conference

MSU-RRTC training coordinator B. J. LeJeune participated in a "Conference Within a Conference" held by Vision Rehabilitation Therapists (VRTs) during the 2011 regional meeting of the Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER)in Boston August 11-14. LeJeune served as a session presenter, panel member, and group facilitator as VRTs worked to design action steps to promote their profession and enhance services to persons who are blind or visually impaired. LeJeune also presented on traumatic brain injury (TBI) and vision loss, reading devices for the blind or visually impaired, and ethics for blindness rehabilitation professionals. The conference drew attendance of over 300 vision professionals, including VRTs, information & technology specialists, orientation & mobility specialists, educators, low vision therapists, researchers, administrators, and professionals from related fields.
