The prime objective of BBA is to provide a forum for mutual support of people in the United Kingdom who are blind or partially sighted and in self-employment. Full members are people who are blind or partially sighted and in self-employment. This is the largest category of membership. Associate members are people who are visually impaired and not self-employed. Affiliate members are people who are not visually impaired but want to support us. Corporate members are organizations which are interested in our work and may support our aims. People who are visually impaired and are training or studying and intend to start a business can become student members for up to four years. Membership fees in all five categories are modest and mainly cover the cost of communications. All the work of the BBA is done by volunteers.
